Cornucopia of the web presents links and information on the world wide web.   This page acts like a directory to the web covering a wide variety of subjects.   To use this site click on the subject be- low to  quickly  access  the  area  of  interest.    Once  there,  you  can  click the  To the Index  in order to quickly get back to the subjects' index area.

This  site  will  not  cling  to your browser.    If you are using one of the tab type browsers, they can effectively be used to keep track of where your at on this page.

The section comments are coded to have an  even  right  hand  margin.   If  you  see  a ragged  right edge try  adjusting  your  browser's width to approximately  65%  of your  screen's width.    It  is  a finicky operation to get it, so patience and tries are rewarded with a neat look.     :^)

Alternatively, you see that, "You do not want to go here" at the top of the page?   Go  there and set your page to  the  picture's  width,  just  so  that  the  narrowness  of  the  page  does not set off the lower scroll bar.   That should do it.

These pages have been hand coded using a MS Windows'  text  processor  called  "Notepad"  and checked  for  accuracy  using  Firefox.   However,  I  have not  neglected  other browsers, Internet Explorer should  appear  well  formated as should most others brands.   CSS has helped in bringing about standardization of the displays of the various flavors.  I should mention that it  was  written  & proofed at 1024 x 768 pixels and that may be required for proper display. Also, if you have altered the default page font size, it will not display properly.

If you are using a recent version of MS Internet  Explorer you will  have to lighten up on  the default settings including scripting as this site uses JavaScript for onMouseOvers etc for your added enjoy- ment.   MS has listened  to the user complaints & adopted a secure stance for their product,  which has pretty much resulted in a brick for a browser.  It won't even display gif images 'til you do some- thing about it's brick like status.   Sorry.

Advisory:  To avoid the 1-2-3-4 punch of spam, Viral infections, Pop ups, and Malware, do not go to any of the Internet Porn Sites or areas (Usenet or user groups)!   This will help eliminate possibly 80% of your exposure to these dangers.  When you receive unsolicited e-mail do nothing other than delete it.  Asking to be removed from the list will likely get you more spam.  This action will confirm your address as "good", making it  of value  for sale  to others.   Do not publish your e-mail address anywhere on the Internet. When posting to the Usenet (user groups) use a program such as Fortés' "Agent" allowing you to forge your e-mail address.  Finally, if the junk becomes too irritating, follow the links below for a course of action.

Be  aware  that  doing  proper  complaining about the spam you receive may get you complained of your "spamming activities!"  Or  you  may  suffer  other  sorts  of  attacks  from  these unscrupulous people.   Having a strongly Anti 1-2-3-4 punch ISP is truly a valued asset.

Below, please find the links to Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, & SpywareBlaster.  In addition to a good Anti-Viral & a strong firewall,  I consider these programs an essential addition to your defense suite and they are free for the downloading!  As an instance, with less than 10 days on my new Windows XP Pro system with firewall & Anti-Viral in place, I added these and found I'd already picked up a performance degrading amount of spyware!

This is a brand new area to me.   I've never "blogged", never read a "blog", or in any other way had anything to do with the subject!  It looks like it may much akin to "Use Groups", which I've dabbled in & enjoyed.   So if I've totally blown it with these links, forgive.   I expect this section will improve with experience.

I was planning on offering the Netscape Browser Link with this iteration in spite of the heavy AOL branding of the browser.  However, AOL has exercised it's option to highly intergrate the browser with it's service.   Therefore,  I  am  fearful  that  installing it may be detrimental to your computer's health.

This is an area that can be quite addictive; i.e. it's lots of fun! But be careful, this area is loaded with lots of sexually explicit sites.   Avoid  them, some are amateur, still, the same warnings as posted  in the spam/scam area comments also apply for these sexual chats and sites.

Career Section:

I live in California; many of  these links are thus based.  However, many are national recruiters and can be tuned to your local area.  Some, such as the state links, cannot  be  adapted,  you'll have to sort out your own local links.  Monster, CareerBuilder, and Yahoo  are job search engines which should be tunable to your local area.

These links lead mostly to tech type jobs. For other specific categories there are specialists in areas such as medical, management types, etc.  Do web searches for  these  other specialties.  I wish you well in your Quest.

Companies & Corporations Section:

It seems to me that circa 1998 a feeding frenzy came onto the American business community to get a web presence.   This seemed to push the .com  bubble up and over the top  climaxing in the bust. Never-the-less as a result practically any American & International business presence can be found on the Internet.  Many are designed to be quite useful and some even very entertaining.

As most of these links are everyday household familiar,  I've foregone the usual pre-link description again.  Thousands are available,  I've limited this section to fifty.  They've  been  chosen  for several  factors  including  product satisfaction, service,  drool  factor, or  other.  Non-inclusion should  not  be  construed as any lacking in these factors, but rather, my laziness.  I must cut off somewhere.

**There are ethical questions surrounding this subject.   If you Google the subject [Wardriving] you will get articles concerning these  ethics,  many other articles, and  links  on  this subject.   My  local librarian  introduced me to 'Wardriving' although she never knew it by this name and  invited  me  to avoid  the  waiting  times  along  with  the time restrictions by using my lap- top  to access the wire- less network.   I deal with the issues by not logging on business networks during business hours (for the most part)  and  try  not  to  abuse the privilege of open airports.  It is wonderful to be  lost in  a strange city and  be able to pull up a map along with directions to get yourself  un-lost.   Please,  be considerate of your wireless hosts' trust in you and do not abuse or otherwise  trash things.  It is my hope  that we,  as a community,  can  police  ourselves  so as to always be  welcome  at these open sites.

Cops & Robbers:

Many may find this an unusual series of links. I am the son of a now deceased policeman. Having been  raised  in  a Cops environment home will explain my interest in this area. For you who have not experienced this, it is good for you to know that  it  is  rather  a  closed  society.   Most of the public does not be-friend  cops  or  their  families, thus  most find their only friends to be relatives and /or other cops and their families. Most of  these people get little recognition for the honorable services and sacrifice they render to the communities which they serve.

It is highly recommended that you thoroughly check any courses that purportedly train you in  law enforcement, detective work. and /or bounty hunting. Horror stories and disappointments abound  and  are  especially  prevalent  in  the home schooling  areas where the schools are  remote  from one's own location.  One  would  hope  that such an area would be free  of  this risk,  however,  it seems not all is well.

Dictionary Section:

There  are many dictionaries and subject dictionaries on the Internet.  I've attempted  to confine this list to some of the most useful and  free.  There are also cases that  I forego the normal alphabetical order.  These sites are closely  related to the preceding one.   If  you  do  not  find  what you  need here, do your own search to find it.  I like  Dogpile as it combines several good search engines  into one.   Several  of  these  links  have long titles that are, fairly well, self  describing.   In such cases  I forego a description or it'll be very short.    Here is one of historical interest that you can have some fun with, WordSmith.  At one time I considered it an essential.

Health Section:

At the outset, I'd like to say your best opportunity at good health is prior to the doctors visit.  Good health  depends on your taking care of yourself.   I'm no doctor or otherwise any sort of expert, but it seems  just  good  common  sense  to  make  sure  that  your  body  has  all the essential nutrients required for good health, growth, & repair.   It  was reported in 1938,  if I remember correctly,  by the U.S. Department of  Agriculture  that the  farm lands had been depleted of minerals.  In view of this, I've become convinced to attempt a daily intake of vitamins and minerals.  Depending who one listens to, there may be up to 90 of these essentials.  It's really up to you to learn what to take.  I've discovered that herbs can also play a vital role in body health and functions.   There are many good books on these subjects, and it pays dividends to investigate.

There are many in the "Alt Health" category,  I could not possibly list them all.  Many of the sources are best sought out for their regional location.   Do  searches on  alt health,  alt doctors, or similar to search 'em out.  Nothing listed within this section  should be considered an endorsement, nor should exclusion by the same token be considered a slight.    Good Luck.

The listings for the radio stations are on two separate pages.   One covering AM,  the other FM.  I don't  know  about  where you live,   but where I live the radio stations have been playing "Musical Antennas" and have been swapping frequencies faster than my dial can keep up.   So, I've decided to give it a go,  and create some current listing pages.   Mind now,  I'm an old rock 'n roller  with  a taste for the classics and now & again some jazz.   That covers the FM Band and since AM (with- out Stereo) is not suited to music, I pretty well only listen to "News Talk" on that medium.   I  don't speak anything but English so that covers the parameters.  I live in Santa Cruz County California & that pretty well describes the area covered 'xcept that I do spend quite a bit of time over in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I've included a short How to section to help those who do not realize that most search engines can be optimized to narrow the search to a specific subject with little extraneous results.  As the search engines each have their own parameters for eliminating extraneous results, search engine combiners such as dogpile, one of my favorites, do not deal well with these methods.
