"Beta testing" is when product and software developers or online development projects like the Internet Creative Directory allow members of the public or of a specific group like you to test our product or software before we release it to the industry and/or general public. We do this in order to put the product/software through the process of rigorous use and to eliminate any errors in production, spelling or grammar.   

Why would somebody want to beta test?  

The process of beta testing is extremely important in the development of a product or software package. It gives us the developers an opportunity to learn what works and frankly what needs improvement. On the other hand it gives you, the Beta Tester, the chance to review our product, use it thoroughly before anyone else, and it allows you to influence and create the direction of the product by suggesting important features, design and overall operation of the product.  It also gives you a jump start on requesting potential alliances, promotional ideas, special projects and advertising opportunities! 

What happens when I sign on to beta test?  

Once you receive the beta info via Email you will need to sign up for the beta test by filling out the Feedback and Ideas form. We will use the information you provide to set up your beta profile which will allow you to receive valuable information and updates during the beta test. You will also be offered FREE software which runs on your computer and other tools that pertain to your industry. 

So what are my responsibilities during this beta test?  

Not really too much. We don't ask you to you spend any specific amount of time on the site. We just want you to tell us what you think about the site, what we should keep and what we can improve upon. Once you sign up please review the site and give us your initial impressions. Then experiment, look around, use things, let us know what we can add that would make your use of the site more effective. What features would YOU add to the site if you could? How would you promote your product or service? What are your most favorite features? If you find a broken link, or something buggy such as a misaligned image also let us know by Email or use the Beta Test Feedback form (this should be installed by early February). We will then try to fix the problems you find.  

What exactly is the "Internet Creative Directory" (ICD Online)? 

The ICD Online is an interactive web community that has been constructed for the Creative Industries; Special Event, Meeting Planning, Hospitality, Art, Entertainment and Music. We have created special sections that will cater to specific aspects of each industry. We will introduced custom advanced features such as "Live" bulletin boards, discussion areas, Virtual Venues(tm) site, chat rooms, file transfer, newsletter publishing facilities, and many more areas.
